SAVE OUR SEDONA

Tell the City
Council to Stop
All Funding
 for Destination Marketing for
 the Sedona Chamber of Commerce
for one year!
We love Sedona and these past few months have been excruciating, watching the bad traffic get worse and worse and watching trails being destroyed by people who don't seem to care for the earth.

That is what has led to starting a coalition to Save Our Sedona. It's an SOS, because it's an emergency. We don't have much time to save this beautiful, sacred place.

Tell the City Council to Stop All Funding for Destination Marketing for the Sedona Chamber of Commerce for one year including Social Media and Publicity!

Update: July 28, 2021

City Council Meeting to approve Sedona Chamber of Commerce Budget
The City Council held a Special Meeting that went for 3 hours. During the meeting all of the City Council members were adamant about strictly maintaining the "No Destination Marketing For One Year". The Chamber, through President Candace Strauss and new Board Chairman Al Comello, stated their commitment to this policy. The budget for Advertising Outside Sedona went from $683,500 last year to only $51,500 for this year and was approved. The commitment was also made to spend this pause in developing truly sustainable tourism in Sedona. Thanks to all of you who sent emails to the City Council, they remarked again about how many they received.
Update: July 21, 2021

JULY 28 IS THE FINAL VOTE! This is the day the City Council will vote whether or not to approve the Sedona Chamber of Commerce budget. Please write to the City Council members asking them for NO DESTINATION MARKETING FUNDING for one year. You can review the budget below.
Update: May 27, 2021

Thanks to those of you who attended the City Council Meeting on May 26 and who wrote in to Council Members. This was the final working meeting on the Chamber budget and each of the City Council Members stated that they are in agreement with stopping all Destination Marketing for one year. This takes out over $600,000 of the advertising budget. There are still some tweaks we are hoping will be made between now and when the final budget is approved (which may be in July). We'll keep you posted.
Update: April 29, 2021

A big thank you to all of you who turned out for the City Council meeting, especially those who had to stand out in the hallways and outside because of the social distancing rules. And I especially want to thank those of you who wrote to the City Council. They all commented on it and many of them actually called many of you to speak with you about these issues.

Even though this was only a Working Session, four of the City Council members spoke in favor of pausing all Destination Marketing for Sedona for one year. The Chamber will now come back with a proposed budget for the next meeting which will be May 26. We must keep up our efforts and not take anything for granted.

We will keep you posted on things as they develop.  If you haven't already, please fill out the info below so we can keep you updated.
